YES THE FORCE OF FRICTION OPPOSES THE RELATIVE MOTION OF SURFACE IN CONTACT BECAUSE FRICTION OPPOSES A RELATIVE MOTION.ALSO FRICTION ALWAYS EXIST BETWEEN A SURFACE WHEN TWO SURFACES ARE IN CONTACT.
