☺☺I often see and hear that from film makers and actors, but I am not sure it is as much a reflection of society than a selected portion of society. So I would not say true for the most part. There is still way too much stereotyping and too many hidden social and political agendas in many films that do not reflect society as a whole. My vote is it is more entertainment than a reflection of society. They do reflect our society but not completely. Most movies only focus on a particular part as I said above. But there are also documentary movies like Gandhi or Slumdog millionaire which do give good account of a part of our society to be precise.

NO,
       Movies are not the mirror of our Society . We cannot compare reel life to a real life . Nowadays there is a trend of making movies on any famous personalities . It is good for us that we get to know about the life of  a famous man but we cannot compare it to the real life of that particular man. There are various types of Movies which are made to aware the Society , but however we cannot take them as same . They are just a thumbnail of the real situation . If u will face such situatuions you will get to know about the reality.
