Hey

Yes . Soil contains air .

But not all the soils contains air means they may contain more or they may contain less air in it .

Air is mainly trapped between particles of soil . So , amount of air in soil depends on the particles nature ( texture ) of soil .

And this is useful :-

• This is useful for the organism which lives in the soil . Many organism like as earthworm and many more which lives in the soil requires air for their survival or many ither reasons .

• Air in soil determines the amount of humus in it . Because in dry ( lack of air ) mainly it is seej that humus are not present or present in less amount .

• It is also important for the growth of crops . Farmers ploughes the field befire cultivation of crops ( sowing seeds ) because it makes the soil partilces to gets lighter by increasing the space between then so that air may enter there .
The process is also known as aeration .

thanks :)
