High reactive metals undergo electrolytic reduction. After this there is no need for further refining as we have already obtained the pure metal. However some metals like that of copper, after extraction, needs to be refined or made into pure metal before it can be used (ie. the gangue or the various impurities need to be removed). In this case, we use electrolytic refining to obtain the pure metal.
Basically, the answer is no. (in my opinion yes)
Also good luck for boards :)
