No, the narrator does not like writing ghost stories. He was writing ghost stories because his wife wants money for shopping which he was not able to afford through his salary so that's why he was writing ghost stories as a part time job. And also in writing ghost story Helen the ghost was helping him and Jenkins was the only publisher who was publishing his stories
