No,the narrator was not fond of writing ghost stories at all. To him, he didn't specialize in ghost stories because he didn't want to contradict Jenkins, as his magazine had been the only one to print his stories.Whenever he sat down to write a ghost story, he didn't get any idea to fulfill it. He had to spend even a month thinking the plot. This shows that he was not great ghost story writer, but an accidental ghost story writer.
