does the pitch will increase when we tighten the strings of an instrument?

▪There are a few hypothesis why that might happen:

▪.On guitars with a Floyd Rose bridge if say the low E string gets loose, all other strings get tighter thus going a bit sharp..


▪On guitars withtremolo bridge,the same thing could occur. So after tuning your guitar you find out that the edge of your tremolo bridge is floating, due tothe fact that you have not tighten the springs that would reign it in place. Some people leave it like that intentionally though It occurs when you go from lower gauge strings to higher gauge without increasing the tension in the tremolo springs..


▪Temperature differences might stiffen the neck of theguitar, thus reducing its"bow". This would also result in tighter strings.
This is a relatively rare phenomenon thoug.
