Does the value of resistance of a conductor depend upon the potential difference applied across it or the current passed through it?​

Resistance is a matirial property and does not depend upon current and potential difference. It is only depend upon the shape size and matirial used in it.

As you might know the formula to calculate Resistance is

V=IR

V = voltage or potential difference

I = current

R= Resistance

Clearly as you can see the resistance depends both on p.d and current.

Besides this the resistance is also directly affected by-

1) Length of conductor- Longer the conductor higher the resistance.

2) Area of cross section or thickness of conductor- Thicker it is , lower is the resistance.

3) Material of conductor- Metals have lowest resistance and insulators have highest.

4) Temperature of conductor - Lower temperature lower resistance.
