the rashtrakutas in the Deccan where we subcontinent of the chalukyas of Karnataka. it was during the mid eighteenth century when Dantidurga, a Rashtrakuta chief, overthrew his Chalukya overlord and performed a ritual called 'Hiranya-garbha' with the help of Brahmanas.
