When to use said, told,asked, says, reported? in Direct and Indirect speech.

He said,"he is a good boy". here we definitely use conjunction that when we are changing from direct speech to indirect speech.If the reporting verb is past said becomes said , said to becomes told in assertive sentence.In interrogative sentence any reported verbs are changed to asked respectively.in assertive reporting verb says become says only.
