The donkey was bored and tired enough to carry burdens all the time. He thought that he himself carries the burden but the profit goes to his owner's pocket. So, the donkey pondered over this thought and after acquiring experience of his falling into river with the burden of salt, he imagined that all affairs result in the same. This was his big mistake and the result of his mistake was heavy. He intentionally fell on the river with the cotton bag on his back. As a result, the burden became heavier and he had to struggle to carry it a long way. His foolishness taught him a lesson.
