Given :  a circle of radius 3cm with A centre take a point B on the circle .

.Now with B as a centre radius equal to 3cm draw another circle.

C and D be two point where does these two circle intersect

To Find :  Does this circle pa ss through the point A

Are AB and CD perpendicular?

Solution:

Take a point A

use compass width = 3cm and A as center draw a circle

Take a point B on circle boundary

use compass width = 3cm and B as center draw a circle

Yes ,  this circle pa ss through the point A

as AB = 3cm   and BA = 3 cm   radius of circles

Yes AB and CD are perpendicular

CD is common chord of circle

Let say M is mid point of CD

Perpendicular from center of circle bisect the chord

=> AM ⊥ CD   and BM⊥CD

Hence AMB is straight line

=> AB ⊥ CD
