Given : a circle of radius 6 cm

To Find : Draw tangent from a point 8 cm away

Solution:

Step 1 : Draw a circle of radius 6 cm using compass taking length = 6cm and center O

Step 2 : take any point P  . 8 cm away from O

Step 3 : Join OP

Step 4 : Draw perpendicular bisector of OP and let say it bisect at M

Step 5 : taking length = OM = PM & taking M as center , cut the Circle at point A & B

Step 6 : Join PA & PB

PA & PB are the required Tangent
