Draw a circle with centre P and radius 3.4 cm. Take point Q at a distance 5.5 cm from the centre. Construct tangents to the circle from point Q.

Steps:


1) Let the centre be at origin.



We draw a circle of radius 3.4cm ,taking external point at distance 5.5cm from centre.



2) From external point C, we draw two tangents. on the given circle.

As given in figure, we see that from an external point of the circle, two tangents can be drawn which touches the circle at one point each.

Hence , we also verified an important property of circle and an external point.
