mrs. dorling was a very greedy a a cunning person. during the war in Holland she offered to mrs s that until the war gets over she she would take care of her possessions. mrs. s trusted on mrs. dorling so she let her to go with her possessions. mrs. dorling expected that no 1 would able to come back from the war and she alone would enjoy all the possessions but she didn't expect that she would have a encounter with mrs. s' s daughter. she didn't want to give her the possessions so she ill treated with the narrator and sent her back.

on the other hand mrs. s was a very kind hearted person. she trusted on mrs. dorling and so she couldn't able to find her tricks. during the war she and her daughter had to shift to another place where she died.
