● Auditory ossicles -

  • Middle ear consists of three small bones called ossicles - malleus, incus and stapes.
  • They are joined together in chain which helps in amplification of sound.
  • Malleus is attached to eardrum, incus articulates with stapes, footplate of stapes is at oval window.
  • They transmit sound from air to cochlea.
