Dear Student,

- Middle ear consists of three small bones called ossicles - malleus, incus and stapes.
- They are joined together in chain which helps in amplification of sound.
- Malleus is attached to eardrum, incus articulates with stapes, footplate of stapes is at oval window.
- They transmit sound from air to cochlea.
