Given that,

Total potential V=4\times 3

V= 12\ V

Resistance R_{1}=5\ \Omega

Resistance R_{2}=10\ \Omega

Resistance R_{3}=15\ \Omega

Resistance R_{4}=20\ \Omega

All resistance are connected in series.

We need to calculate the total resistance

Using formula of series

R=R_{1}+R_{2}+R_{3}+R_{4}

R=5+10+15+20

R=50\ \Omega

We need to calculate the current in the circuit

Using ohm's law

V=IR

Put the value into the formula

12=I\times 50

I=\dfrac{12}{50}

I=0.24\ A

We need to calculate the voltage

Using ohm's law

V=IR

Put the value into the formula

V=0.24\times20

V=4.8\ V

Hence, The readings in ammeter is 0.24 A and in voltmeter is 4.8 V.
