Types of forces are given below :
Force: Force is external energy applied to an object causing it to move from its position and change its velocity. It can simply be termed as a push or pull to an object making it move.
Two main types of forces with their subtypes are:
- Contact forces: The forces which result when the two objects are interacting or they are observed to be contacted with each other. The different types of contact forces are:
- Fictional forces: Friction is a result of two objects contacting each other. Fictional force is applied to a moving object and it is applied in the opposite direction of which the object is moving. For example, stopping the wheels of the moving car.
- Muscular forces: when we apply muscular energy or use our muscles to move an object it is known as muscular force. For example, pushing open a door or a gate
- Non-contact forces: The resultant force where two objects are not in physical contact is known as non-contact forces. There are different types of non-contact forces:
- Electrostatic force: The force applied by a charged body or object on another charged or uncharged body.
- Magnetic forces: The forces between two magnets. The attraction and repulsion between two magnets without any physical contact are known as magnetic forces.
- Gravitational force: The strong force that pulls any object or body towards the earth's surface is known as the gravitational pull/force.
