Some of the characters of Euglena are described below :

1. These organisms are mainly found in stagnant type of water and mostly are freshwater.

2. They do not have wall that surrounds their cell. Instead of this, a layer which is protein rich is present in them which is called pellicle. This is responsible for their flexibility.

3. Both short as well long type of flagella are found in them.
