Construction of perpendicular bisector to given line segment:

  • Draw a line segment AB = 6.4 cm.
  • Now by taking a radius of more than half and center A, draw arcs on either side of AB.
  • With the same radius, cut these arc from center B.
  • Mark the points of intersection of these arcs as P and Q.
  • Join P and Q.
  • PQ is perpendicular bisector of AB bisecting AB at C.
  • Measuring the distances, we get

                    AC = CB = 3.2 cm
