Construction of line parallel to AB throug C:

  • Draw a line segment AB = 7 cm.
  • Pass a ray AX through A such that ∠BAX = 60°.
  • With a radius of 4 cm, draw an arc on AX from A.
  • Mark this point as C on AX.
  • Now with a suitable radius, draw an arc from A such that it cuts AB and AC.
  • With same radius, cut an arc from C on same side and mark this point as Y.
  • Copy angle A with compass and cut the arc from point Y.
  • Name the point of intersection of these two points as D.
  • Draw a line passing through CD.
  • CD is parallel to AB.
