Steps of construction :

Step I - Draw a line segment AB = 6.5 cm with the help of ruler.

Step II - with vertex A, by using compass take more than half of AB and draw arcs, one each side of side of AB.

Step III - with vertex B, by using compass with same length, cut the previous arcs at E and F respectively.

Step IV - with help of ruler join the point E and F.

Thus, Q is midpoint of Ab (∴ AQ = BQ)

Step V - similarly, bisect the lines AQ and BQ

Thus, P, is midpoint of AQ and R, is midpoint of BQ Now, points P, Q and R divided the line segment AB in four equal parts

∴ AP = PQ = QR = RB
