To Find : Surface area of the podium

Solution :

The surface areas of the front and back sides of the cubic shape are equal.

Therefore,

2 ( 30 × 30 + 30 × 30 + 30 × 30 + 30 × 15)

= 2 ( 900 + 900 + 900 + 450)

= 2 ( 3150)

=  6300

Surface area of the left and right sides -

= 2 ( 30 × 60)

= 2 × 1800

= 3600

Surface area of the top side -

= 3 ( 30 × 30)

= 3 ( 900)

= 2700

Thus, the total surface area  

= (6300 + 3600 + 2700)

= 12600

Hence, the required surface area to paint the podium is 12600 cm².
