(1) Draw a line segment AB of 7.6 cm.
(2) Take any angle of your wish(for ex. 45° as taken in figure given) for both the ends . Extend the points till where you find appropriate.
(3) Now divide the lines into equal thirteen parts each and name them as A1,A2,A3 till A13 and do the same for point B as B1, B2, B3 till B13 as shown in figure .
(4) Join the points A, B13 and B , A13 as shown.
(5) Now join A5 to B8 inorder to divide AB of 7.6 cm into ratio 5:8.
(6) Name the point of intersection as C.
(7) Now the measure the two parts.You will find
AC= 5x = 2.9 cm
and CB = 8x = 4.7 cm
