Sperm is the male reproductive cell that is produced by male. Sperm reach to female ovum and female egg get fertilised and new offspring is produced.

  • Human male sperm is also known as spermatozoon.
  • Mature sperm has two parts: Head tails.
  • The head is the sperm is called acrosome.
  • Sperm constitutes of lysosomes and hyalunoridase enzyme.
  • Sperm has two types of chromosomes:- XX Chromosomes and XY chromosomes.
  • Sperm contains genetic information and this genetic information is transmitted from male to female and then to the new offspring.
  • When sperm reaches to ovum then it forms embryo.
  • Reproductive cells are known as gonads.
