Given: The time spent by a child during a day.

Sleep - 8 hours

School- 6 hours

Home work - 4 hours

Play - 4 hours

Others - 2 hours

To find: Draw a pie chart of the data given below.

Solution:

There are 24 hours in a day and a circle measures 360°. Out of those 24 hours, the child sleeps for 8 hours. Thus, the section taken up by sleep in the pie chart is calculated as shown below.

\frac{8}{24}*360 = 120 degrees

Similarly, the section taken up by school can be calculated as

\frac{6}{24}*360 = 90 degrees

The section taken up by homework is

\frac{4}{24}*360 = 60 degrees

The section taken up by Play is

\frac{4}{24}*360 = 60 degrees

The section taken up by Others is

\frac{2}{24}*360 = 30 degrees

Therefore, the pie chart can be drawn as shown in the attachment.
