To find: Draw a pie chart of the data given below.

Solution:

There are 24 hours in a day and a circle measures 360°. Out of those 24 hours, the child sleeps for 8 hours. Thus, the section taken up by sleep in the pie chart is calculated as shown below.

$\frac{8}{24}*360 = 120 degrees$

Similarly, the section taken up by school can be calculated as

$\frac{6}{24}*360 = 90 degrees$

The section taken up by homework is

$\frac{4}{24}*360 = 60 degrees$

The section taken up by Play is

$\frac{4}{24}*360 = 60 degrees$

The section taken up by Others is

$\frac{2}{24}*360 = 30 degrees$

Therefore, the pie chart can be drawn as shown in the attachment.
