The ray diagrams for each case is given above.

  • The features of the images formed in each case- both in a plane mirror as well as in a convex mirror will remain the same.
  • The rays of light striking the mirror in each case are reflected back at different angles. The perpendicular ray striking the plane mirror returns along its original path.
  • The image formed in both mirrors is virtual and erect. It is the same size as that of the object. Image distance is equal to object distance. The image suffers lateral inversion.
