●The diagram contains a closed circuit diagram with resistors of 5 ohm ,8 ohm ,and 12 ohm connected in series with a key .

● The resistor nd key are connected to three batteries of 2 volts so maximum voltage of battery is 6V .

●key is used to close the circuit so that currect from battery can pass from bateery to all resistors and hence is used to close and complete circuit.

●when resistors are connected in series then resistance offered is maximum as equivalent is equal to sum of all resistors =5+8+12=25ohm

●current in series remain same .

●following is diagram attached of circuit:---

Series resistors:

The image of the circuit is given in the below diagram.

Total resistance:

When the resistors are connected in series, the total resistance is equal to sum of resistance of individual resistors.

\bold{R=R_{1}+R_{2}+R_{3}}

\bold{R=5+8+12}

\bold{\therefore R = 25 \ \Omega}

Current passing through the circuit:

On applying Ohm's law, we get,

\bold{I=\frac{V}{R}}

On substituting the required values, we get,

\bold{I=\frac{6}{25}}

\bold{\therefore I = 0.24 \ A}

Potential difference across the resistor 12 Ω:

On applying Ohm's law, we get,

\bold{V=IR}

On substituting the required values, we get,

\bold{V=0.24 \times 12}

\bold{V=2.88 \ volts}
