Electroplating is a process of coating the cathode with the metal on the anode.
In this diagram the nickel is the anode and the spoon is the Cathode
During this process, The Electrolyte splits into ions. The positive ion which will be the nickel will get attracted toward the cathode or the spoon
After some time, a layer of nickel will be formed on the spoon
