 \huge \bold{ANSWER}

 \underline \bold{THE BRAIN}

▶In proportion to the size of human brain is the largest among all animals.

▶It is very delicate organ protected inside the brain box cranium of the skull.

▶It weighs about 1.35 kg and constitute about 2 % of the total body weigth.

▶It is 80% water and consumes 25% of total oxygen.

 \underline \bold{PARTS}

The three main parts of brain visible externally are

1)-Cerebrum

2)-Cerebellum

3)-Medulla oblongata.

1◼ \bold{CEREBRUM}

▶It is the largest portion of brain.

▶It is divided into two halves called cerbral hemispheres. Their outer surface is highly convoluted with ridges called gyri and grooves called sulci.

▶The outer portion of cerebtin contains cell body of neuron and is grayish in colour, is called gray matter .

▶The inner portion of the cerebrum consists of "white matter" which mainly contain axons of neurons.

▶Copus collasum is a sheet of fibres v

connecting two cerebral hemisphere. Its function is to transfer information from

one hemisphere to other .

FUNCTION:---

The cerebrum is seat of intelligence, consciousness and will power, It controls all voluntary actions.

2◼ \bold{CEREBELLUM}

▶The cerebellum is a much smaller area of the brain located just at the base and under the large cerebrum.

▶This also has an outer cortex made of gray matter.

▶It has white matter which in a median section appears like branchinh tree.

FUNCTIONS:--

The main function of the cerebellum is to maintain body balance of the body and coordinate muscular act.

3◼ \bold{MEDULLA \: OBLONGATA}

▶The medulla oblongata is the lowest portion of the brain located at the base of the skull.

▶It is roughly a triangular and is continued behind the spinal cord.

▶Its upper part is pons, located at the centre of the brain below crebellum.

It carries impulses from one hemisphere of cerebellum to other.

FUNCTION:--

Its function is to control the activities of internal organs.

Example :-

Peristalsis movement,breathing etc.

 \bold{REGIONS}
The brain have Three primary regions:-

1)-Forebrain

2)-Midbrain

3)-Hindbrain

▶The forebrain contains cerebrum and diencephalon which have

✳Thalamus -relays pain and pressure impulses to cerebrum.

✳Hypothalamus -controls body temperature and pituitary.

▶Midbrain is a small tubular part which controls reflexes involving ear and eyes.

▶Hindbrain consists of cerebellum , pons and medulla oblongata.
