Draw circuit diagram to show how 3 bulb can be lit from a battery so that two bulb

are control by the same switch while the third bulb has its own switch.

2. An electric heater is connected to the 230 volt main supply. 8A current flow

through the heater

(A) How much charge flow around the circuit each second?

(B) How much energy is transferred to the heater each second?

3. How many electrons are flowing per second past a point in a circuit in which there

is a current of 5 ampere?

4. Potential difference between two points of a wire carrying 2 ampere current is 0.1

volt .calculate the resistance between these points.

5. A simple electric circuit has a 24 volt battery and a resistor of 60 Ohm. What will

be the current in the circuit? If the resistance of the connecting wires is negligible.

6. An electric iron draws a current of 3.4 ampere from the supply line of 220 V. what

will be the electric current when connected to a 110 volt supply line

7. A potential difference of 20 volt is applied across the end of a resistor of 5 ohm

what current will flow?

8. Resistance of 20 Ohm has a current of 2 ampere what potential difference is there

between its ends?

9. A current of 5 ampere flows through a wire whose end are at potential difference of

3 volt. Calculate the resistance of the wire.

10. When a 12 volt battery is connected across an unknown resistor There is a current

of 2.5 milliampere in the circuit. calculate the value of resistance of the register

11. what potential difference is needed to send a current of 6 ampere through

electrical appliance having the resistance of 40 ampere

12. An electric circuit consisting of 0.5 m long nichrome wire XY, an ammeter, a

voltmeter , four cells of 1.5 volt each and a plug key was set set up

(1 ) draw a Circuit diagram of this electrical circuit to study the relation between the

potential difference maintained between the point x y and electric current flowing

through xy.

(2) Draw a graph between V along y axis and I along x axis . What will the slope

of graph represent?

Explanation:

ans 2 - v = 230 volt

i = 8 Ampere

a) i = q/t

q = i xt = 8 x 1 = 8 coulomb

b) H = i2 x r xt

r = v/i = 230 / 8 = 28.7 ohm

H = 8x8x28.7x1 = 1148 joule = 1.148 kj

ans 3 - i = q / t

q = i xt = 8 x 1 = 8c

q = n x e

n = q / e = 8 / 1.6 x 10^-19

n = 5 × 10^19

ans 4 - v = 0.1 volt

i = 2 ampere

by ohms law

V = I X R

R = V / I = 0.1 / 2 = o.o5 ohm

ans 5- v = 24 volt

R = 60 ohm

by ohms law

V= I X R

I = V/ R

I = 24 / 60 = 0.4 ampere

ans 6 - v = 220 volt

i = 3.4 ampere

by ohms law , v = i x r

r = v/i = 220 / 3.4 = 64.7 ohm

by ohms law v = i x r

i = v/r = 110 / 64.7 = 1.70 ampere

ans 7 -

v = 20 volt

r = 5ohm

by ohms law we get i = v/r = 20/5 = 4 ampere

ans 8 -

r = 20 ohm

i = 2ampere

by ohms law , v = i x r

v = 2 ×20 = 40 volt

ans 9 - i = 5ampere

v = 3volt

by ohms law

r = v/i = 3/5 = 0.6 ohm

hoped that it helps u ... nishant thnks for asking...
