Five different parts of a plant are root, stem, leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds.

Explanation:

  • Root helps in providing support to the plant. It absorbs water and nutrients needed for growth. It can also store sugars and carbohydrates that plant uses for other functions.
  • Stems carry water and nutrients and takes it up the roots to leaves. Then the food is produced by the leaves and is again moved to other parts of the plant.
  • Leaves are the food making factories of green plants. Leaves come in many different shapes and sizes. Photosynthesis occurs in leaves.
  • Flowers are the most beautiful and colourful part of a plant. They are the reproductive part of a plant. Fertilisation mainly happens through the flower part of plant.
  • Fruit is the ripened ovary of a plant containing the seeds. After fertilization, the ovary swells and becomes either fleshy or hard and dry to protect the developing seeds. Many fruits help in seed spreading.
