◆ Reproduction in yeast -

• Reproduction in yeast takes place by budding.

• Budding in yeast takes place in following steps

  1. Parent yeast starts to form an outgrowth called bud.
  2. Nucleus divides and one daughter nuclei pass into the bud.
  3. Bud takes nutrition from parent & grows in size upto maturity.
  4. Daughter cell gets detached from the parent & germinates into new yeast.
