- A water molecule is made up of one oxygen and two hydrogen molecules.
- Oxygen has "two bonding" and "two lone pairs" and a complete octet.
- Hydrogen attains octet in its valence shell by sharing bond with oxygen.
- Water molecule generally has the structure of H-O-H and oxygen has six and hydrogen has two valence electrons.
- To make it into octet, the total of eight valence electrons should be arranged.
