The ray diagram for a convex lens, where rays are coming from infinity is shown below:

While the ray diagram showing the back converging of rays coming from a source or object is shown below. The convex lenses basically disperse the rays which when extended on the back gives an illusion of the image. Hence what we see is actually not a real image but an illusion of the object or virtual object.
