Drawn tangent segment of √12cm to the circle with centre O and radius 2 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1 : Mark a Point O

Step 2 : using compass width = 2 cm , Draw a circle taking O as center

Step 3 : Draw a line segment  OP = 4 cm using ruler

Step 4 : Taking compass width Slightly less than OP , draw arcs on both sides og OP taking P as center

Step 5 : Keeping compass width same as in step 4 , taking O as center draw arc intersecting arc drawn in step 4 at X & Y

Step 6 : join XY intersecting OP at M

Step 7 : taking compass width = OM or MP  taking M as center draw arcs intersecting circle at A & B

Step 8 : join PA & PB

PA = PB = √12cm Tangent
