the answer of ur question is being given
Full Wave Rectifier
Q. What is a rectifier?
Ans. A rectifier is a device which converts an alternating current to the direct current, allowing current to flow only in one direction.
Q. What is a full wave rectifier?
Ans. It is an electronic circuit which converts the complete cycle of Ac into DC unlike half wave rectifier which converts only the first half of AC into DC.
Working of a Full Wave Rectifier:-
In a full wave rectifier, two junction diodes are used.
During the 1st half cycle of input AC signal,
=> S1 terminal is +ve and S2 Terminal is -ve relative to S respectively. Then, Diode 1 (D1) is forward biased and Diode 2 (D2) is reverse biased.
∴ Current flows in D1 and not in D2.
The direction of current i1 due to D1 in load resistance is directed from A to B.
In next half cycle,
=> S1 terminal is -ve and S2 terminal is +ve relative to S respectively. Then Diode 1 (D1) is reverse biased and Diode 2 (D2) is forward biased.
∴ Current flows in D2 and not in D1.
The direction of current i2 due to D2 in load resistance is again from A to B.
Thus for input AC Signal, the output current is a continuous series of unidirectional pulses.
Full Wave Rectifier Formula:-
- Peak value of AC input voltage,
then Peak Current can be given as:-
=
Ripple Factor:-
