Draw the diagram of a human sperm and state it's functioning.
Answers
Answer:
The head of the sperm contains the DNA, which when combined with the egg's DNA, will create a new individual. The tip of the sperm head is the portion called the acrosome, which enables the sperm to penetrate the egg. The midpiece contains the mitochondria which supplies the energy the tail needs to move

DIAGRAM IN THE PIC
Answer: sperm is microscopic, elongated , haploid and motile male gamete.
It has 4 - parts:
1) head
2) neck
3) middle piece
4) Tail
1) Head: It is flat and oval in shape,
Contains large haploid nucleus,
Anteriorly capped by Acrosome,
2)Neck: it is very short and narrow part,
Contains two Centrioles namely proximal Centriole and distal Centriole,
The proximal Centriole stimulate first cleavage of zygote,
The distal Centriole give rise to axial filament
3) Middle piece:
It has central axial filament surrounded by spirally coiled mitochondria.
4) Tail :
It is long, slender and Tapering part,
It contains central axial filament covered by cytoplasmic sheath,.
The terminal part of tail without cytoplasmic sheath is called end piece.
