here is the microscopic view of animal cell. the parts that carry out the functions are:
Respiration:Mitochondria
Protein synthesis:Endoplasmic reticulum
Transport of material :Endoplasmic reticulum and golgi bodies.
The contributers are :
a .Robert Hooke:Studied cork section and name the unit of honey beehive like a structure of cell.He is considered as the inventer of cell.
b. Studied unicellular animals ,plants, and bacteria through microscope.
Robert Brown :Discovered cell nucleus.
Hope it is helpful ☺

Answer:

animal cell are the basic structural and functional units of animal tissues and organs.

Explanation:

Respiration is carried out by mitochondria also known as power house of the cell. protein synthesis in the cell is done by ribosomes . transport of materials is done through cytoplasm. Robert hooke while discovering cork through his microscope hooke saw tiny box like cavities, what he saw the dead cell wall of plant cell. hence, Robert hooke discovered the 1st dead cell. Leeuwenhoek -he 1st discovered free living algae spirogyra cells in water in 1674 with improved microscope.  he discovered the 1st living cell. he observed living cells and called then animalcules (which are known as bacteria now). robert brown- he was the 1st one who discovered nucleus in the orchids in 1831.
