given equations : x+y = 5 ..(1)

x-y=5..(2)

solution :

x+y = 5 ..(1)

put x= 0

we get

y = 5

coordinate  (0,5)

put y = 0 we get x = 5

coordinate  (5,0)

similarly

x-y = 0

put x = 0 we get y = -5

coordinate  (0,-5)

put y = 0 we get x = -5

coordinate  (-5,0)

from the graph

ABC is the triangle formed with base = 10 units

and height = 5 units

then area of triangle ABC =

\frac{1}{2}\times base \times height \\\\ \frac{1}{2}\times BC \times AD \\\\\frac{1}{2}\times 10 \times 5

= 25 cm ²

hence  , The are of the triangle formed is 25 cm ²
