The classification of the heat zones of the earth is done by Greek Scholar Aristotle. According to his classification, there are three different zones in earth arises due to the temperature difference.

Even though, some of the concept was incorrect, his classification according to temperature difference is accepted. The various zones are Torrid Zone, Frigid Zone and Temperature Zone respectively.

Again these three are classified in to north frigid zone, north temperature zone, south temperature zone,south frigid zone etc.

Torrid zone: It is a region between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. This region receives the direct vertical rays of the Sun for almost the whole year. Therefore, this zone gets the maximum heat from the Sun. This zone is known as the torrid or the tropical zone.
