Answer:

Explanation:

In general, the nitrogen cycle has five steps:

Nitrogen fixation (N2 to NH3/ NH4+ or NO3-)

Nitrification (NH3 to NO3-)

Assimilation (Incorporation of NH3 and NO3- into biological tissues)

Ammonification (organic nitrogen compounds to NH3)

Denitrification(NO3- to N2)

Answer:Nitrogen is the most abundant gas in our atmosphere. Plants need it but they can not take it directly from atmosphere. Rhizobium bacteria and Blue-green algae fix nitrogen from atmosphere and convert it into usable compounds. Plants utilise it and do protein synthesis and nitrogenous compound. When plants and animals die, bacteria and fungi present in the soil convert the nitrogenous waste into nitrogen for using the plants again. Some bacteria convert it into nitrogen gas which goes back to the atmosphere as a result percentage of nitrogen in the atmosphere remains the same.
