Draw the ray diagram for the image formation in a convex lens when object is kept between 2F1 and F1.

Ray diagram for Convex lens:

When object is placed between 2F (centre of curvature) and F (focus), image characteristics are as follows:

  • Image is real.
  • Image is inverted.
  • Image is magnified.
  • Image is formed beyond the centre of curvature.

2 rays have been considered in the above diagram (infinite rays are possible):

  • One is the paraxial ray from object that passes through focus after refraction.

  • Second is the ray passing through optical centre without any deviation.
