Dry Hydrogen Chloride gas does not turn blue litmus red whereas Hydrochloric acid does. Give reason.

yes it is true that dry hydrogen chloride gas does not turn blue litmus to red. whereas wet hydrogen chloride also called hydrochloric acid does..because
we know that acid turns blue litmus into red..so dry hydrogen chloride does not behave like acid because it has no hydronium ion...so it does not behave like acid...thats y it does not turn blue litmus into red....but
in case of hydrochloric acid(wet hydrogen chloride).. wet hydrogen chloride has some water so it forms hydronium ion..after combining with water..so hydronium ion is the charecteristic property of acid..thats y hydrochloric acid behaves as acid ..and it turns blue litmus into red......
