answer is b

the litmus paper is dry... so the protons are not formed in it as a result there will be no change in colour of the litmus paper

Answer:

Dry HCl does not dissociate to give H+ ions.

Acids dissociate to give ions only in the aqueous solution. In this HCl is not in the aqueous form nor the litmus paper is wet, so the colour of the litmus paper does not change.

Solution :(a) the dye present in the litmus doesn't react with HCl.
