British played the game of Dual Government with the Nawabs of Bengal. They enjoyed power without any responsibility. The complains were against the Nawab.

When India was ruled by Aurangzeb then first british company i.e. east india company came to india in 1600 and established first factory in 1651 on the bank of the river hoogly in kolkota . British re6quested to trade their without any tax. Aurangzeb agreed and gave them royal order and workers also rejected to give tax which cause enormous loss revenue ey for bengal because of which the nawab Murshid Quli khan protested. After the death of Aurangzeb the nawabs protested . Nawabs said that they have to give tax but they refuse to pay tax and other small conflict lead to battle of plasaey
