Ducting the path = (261850) - 130900
A horse is tied to a pole fixed at one corner of a 30 m 30 m square fed
means of 10 m long rope. Find
(i) the area of that part of the field in which the horse can graze.
(ii) the increase in the grazing area, if the rope were 20 m long instead of
long.

Answer:

(i) 25 π

(ii) 75 π

(iii) 50π

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the formula:

A = ∅ r² / 2

where A is area, ∅ is angle swept in radians, r is radius

therefore for (i) angle is π/2, and r is 10.

for (ii) we have to do ∅/2 x (R²-r²) where ∅ is π/2, R is 20, r is 10.

(iii) is similar to (i), only ∅ is changed to π.
