If the price is increased by x℅ ,then keeping the expenditure unchanged ,the consumption is reduced by x/(100+x) ×100℅
=25/(100+25) ×100℅
=25/125 ×100℅
=20℅
If the price is increased by x℅ ,then keeping the expenditure unchanged ,the consumption is reduced by x/(100+x) ×100℅
=25/(100+25) ×100℅
=25/125 ×100℅
=20℅
