Due to an increase in the price of sugar by 25%,by how much per cent must a householder decreases the consumption of sugar so that there is no increase in the expenditure on sugar

Soln:-
If the price is increased by x℅ ,then keeping the expenditure unchanged ,the consumption is reduced by x/(100+x) ×100℅
=25/(100+25) ×100℅
=25/125 ×100℅
=20℅
