In this case, we need to find the LCM of 24 and 32.

24 = 2³ * 3
32 = 2⁵

∴ LCM = 2⁵ * 3
            = 32 * 3
            = 96

Number of packets of colour pencils bought = 96/24 = 4
Number of packets of crayons bought = 96/32 = 3

Thus, you need to buy 4 packets of colour pencils and 3 packets of crayons in order to be able to have the same number of crayons and colour pencils (here you have 96 of each).

Answer:

Number of colour pencils per packet = 24

Number of crayons per packet = 32

LCM of 24 and 32 = 96

Number of pencil packets needed to buy = 96/24 = 4

Number of crayons needed to buy = 96 /32 = 3

Therefore , 4 packets of color pencils and 3 packets of crayons should be bought .
