During a trekking activity of 6km a student Ram will go to Sangam and return back up to 12
noon. He estimates that he can go to the Sangam at 1.5km/h on average, and retum at half
that speed. These speeds take into account breaks and rest times. Using Ram's estimated
speeds, what is the latest time he can begin his walk so that he can return by 12 noon?

Given :  During a trekking activity of 6km a student Ram will go to Sangam and return back up to 12  noon.

To find :   latest time by which Ram should begin his walk

Solution:

a trekking activity of 6km

=> total Distance = 6 km

One way Distance = 6/2 = 3 km

Going speed = 1.5 km/hr

Return speed = 1.5/2  km /hr

Time taken in going   = 3/1.5  = 2 hr

Time taken in return = 3/(1.5/2)  = 4 hr

Total Time Taken = 6 hr

To return by 12 Noon

he has to leave by 12 - 6 = 6 AM

latest by 6 AM Ram  can begin his walk so that he can return by 12 noon
